science

Headed by Chief Research Scientist Dennis W. Gleiber, Ph.D., The Olinger Group’s marketing and social scientists know that data must be valid and reliable to be useful in making business decisions.  With Dr. Gleiber’s decades of teaching and academic research, theoretical knowledge and real-world experience, The Olinger Group is able to do more than just write surveys and collect data.

The Olinger Group uses the latest advanced analytical techniques to give clients the most precise answers to their research questions.  Dr. Gleiber and his team utilize a wide array of proven, scientific research methods to conduct their work.  In addition to more traditional statistical techniques, our research scientists are experts on more advanced techniques like conjoint (trade-off) analysis including, Choice-Based Conjoint (CBC), Hierarchical Bayes Estimation (HB), Max-Diff, and the latest technique Adaptive Choice-Based Conjoint (ACBC).  Each project is carefully designed, planned, implemented, analyzed, and reported assuring thorough, actionable findings and recommendations for client decisions.

analytics

Our objective in undertaking any research project is to maximize value to our client through primary research and analysis.  We realize that all research is only as good as the researchers ability to “tell the story,” and communicate the results to the client.  The best research exploits opportunities and solves problems.  By telling the story we communicate with and inform decision-makers giving them knowledge to act efficiently and effectively.

The Olinger Group’s empirical research team and data analysts deploy their skills and experience to get the right data, analyze and interpret it properly, and tell a complete and accurate story.  The Olinger Group’s custom design and analysis uses appropriate methods rather than automated or pre-programmed reporting modules. Thus, every client get the just the right information every time.

The range of complexity in market research calls for an analytic team capable of identifying and applying the appropriate basic and advanced statistical and analytic methods for each project.  The Olinger Group’s research team has all the tools necessary to execute projects of any level of complexity.  We use the full range of basic and advanced analytic techniques including predictive modeling of all kinds, discrete choice and choice experiments, segmentation, perceptual mapping, the myriad forms of regression (e.g., OLS, logistic, Cox, Poisson, Logit, Probit), as well as a host of techniques developed for specific business questions (e.g., Price Sensitivity Measurement, TURF, Funnel, Quadrant) to give clients the best possible answers to their research questions.

Technological Innovation

From operating the latest and most efficient in-house mail processing machinery to being the first market research company to use iPads for extensive in-person field interviews, The Olinger Group is a leader in technological innovation.

The Olinger Group’s research programmers use Sawtooth Software to write and host online and mobile surveys in-house.  These resources allow for greater flexibility and customization in survey research.

Mail surveys are processed by a specialized high-capacity Pitney Bowes mail integration system.  The automated processing system is closed-looped, which provides for greater privacy required by many healthcare clients.  With this system, paper surveys are automatically custom printed, stuffed, marked for postage, verified against USPS records, and processed for mail-out.  Returned surveys are scanned using industry-leading ABBYY software resulting in maximum reliability and error-free data entry.

The Olinger Group also has extensive experience in utilizing new handheld technology, including the Apple iPad, in the field for in-person interviewing.  This new technology allows for real-time monitoring of data collection, on-the-fly survey changes, intricate survey designs, and fast turnaround on reporting.

The Olinger Group has an extensive Business Continuity plan which ensures against any possible business disruptions.   All employees are equipped to perform work duties and access secure data from any location with minimal downtime.

project management

From larger projects that process a million paper surveys a year to one that requires 50,000 in-person interviews at locations throughout the United States to smaller projects that require just a few in-depth interviews, The Olinger Group can handle it all.  Managing market research projects can be complicated, but the Project Managers at The Olinger Group keep clients well-informed, data collection proceeding smoothly and results delivered on-time.

The Olinger Group is currently in the process of becoming one of the first firms in its industry to be ISO 20252 Certified.  This certification ensures the highest levels of quality and globally recognized standard of practice in the market research industry.  The Olinger Group is also HIPAA compliant for health care clients and it is one of the few market research firms that is certified by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) to administer Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) surveys.
