Dennis W. Gleiber, Ph.D.

After a lengthy and distinguished academic career, Dr. Dennis Gleiber joined The Olinger Group in 2006, bringing his research skills to the business community.  Dr. Gleiber is the The Olinger Group’s Chief Research Scientist, and holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  During his three decades in the classroom as a professor at the University of New Orleans and Memphis State University, Dr. Gleiber taught courses in research methods, applied data analysis, statistics and behavioral science at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

At The Olinger Group, Dr. Gleiber is responsible for designing research studies.  “My job is to listen to what the client’s problem is, and figure out how research can help them,” says Dr. Gleiber.  Through his extensive experience and with the help of state-of-the-art computer equipment and software, Dr. Gleiber carefully designs research to provide clients knowledge about their business and markets based on-valid and reliable data.  Already expert in survey research and predictive modeling of all kinds, Dr. Gleiber has become recognized in conjoint analysis techniques, which allow clients to gauge consumer interest for products with differing attributes.

Dr. Gleiber prides himself on not only designing accurate and efficient research projects, but he also is available to consult with clients throughout the process. Dennis meets with clients early on to listen to their business needs or problems, and to help them pin-point what questions they need answered. He has unique insight into behavioral science that allows clients to better understand their customers and employees. In some cases, Dr. Gleiber can help clients answer current questions with data from relevant studies, saving clients money. “Some of our clients appreciate that we’re not in it to squeeze every little penny out of them,” says Dr. Gleiber.

Throughout his career, Dr. Gleiber has published in many journals including American Political Science Review, British Journal of Political Science, American Journal of Public Health and Journal of Productivity and Management. Dr. Gleiber says switching from academics to business has allowed him to see more of his work applied to real-world problems in a much shorter time frame. “I love having lots of different projects; I love the fact that I can actually see the results.” As The Olinger Group’s Chief Research Scientist, he also spends considerable time mentoring and teaching research analysts and account executives.

A St. Louis native, Dr. Gleiber and his wife, Dr. Lynne Gleiber are happy to call New Orleans home. His wife, a New Orleans native, is a political science professor at Xavier University. Even though they are proud parents to four Chihuahuas, the Gleibers are consummate world travelers – often exploring new cities and countries during their time off.
