NEW ORLEANS, LA – April 20, 2010
A study conducted by The Olinger Group for CVS Caremark showed the specialty pharmacy just how important its pharmacists and pharmacy service representatives are to patients. The Olinger Group discovered that almost 70 percent of respondents reported that the CVS Caremark pharmacy professionals played an important role in encouraging them to take medications as prescribed. CVS Caremark was behind only a patient’s physician and family and friends in terms of influence.
CVS Caremark was very satisfied with the The Olinger Group’s study’s results. Scott Reid, PharmD, is the company’s senior vice President, CVS Caremark Specialty Operations. He says “Our patients’ belief that their specialty pharmacy team plays a key role in adherence… (this) clearly validate the benefits of the patient-focused, high-touch services we provide.” The same survey also showed that 93.5 percent of customers were satisfied with CVS Caremark specialty pharmacy services.
The Olinger Group has been providing CVS Caremark with market research services since 2005. This customer service survey was conducted in August 2009. More than 700 interviews were conducted for this research project. To read more about the survey’s results, click here. Click here for a PDF version of the results.
